Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Railway takes delivery of a new locomotive and passenger coaches

25th July 2010

For the main 2010 operating season the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Railway has taken delivery of a specially customised diesel powered locomotive together with three new passenger coaches capable of accommodating up to 84 passengers, all of which are designed to enhance the visitor experience to the North Antrim Coast.  The Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Railway follows the breathtaking two mile extension of the original Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Hydro Electric Tram track.

Both the new locomotive and passenger coaches have been designed to recreate the passenger experience of the original hydro electric tram providing a nostalgic journey linking the town of Bushmills to the UNESCO World Heritage site at the Giant's Causeway.  It is planned that the new rolling stock should, in the future, have incorporated a voice over commentary pointing out historical and local areas of interest along the route.

Coleraine's Nirvana Spa Wins 5 Star Rating

25th May 2010

Nirvana Beauty and Day Spa has just been awarded a 5 star rating by the UK and Ireland association 'Good Salon Guide' which is the only independent nationwide scheme for assessing professional standards and service within hairdressing and beauty industry.

Famous for its seaweed and chocolate treatments, Nirvana Spa has continued to grow and adapt its range of treatments to meet the increased stress levels caused by the current credit crunch.

A new range of 'Express' treatments was introduced to help people wanting rapid stress release without breaking the bank.

Brenda Todd the delighted owner of Nirvana Beauty and Day Spa said 'Our new express treatments have gone down very well with customers as they still want to continue a monthly 'pick me up' within their budgets.  Interestingly the number of body massages has risen dramatically in the past year as people have now discovered the great benefits of our stress relieving massage'.

'To be awarded a 5 star rating from this organisation is a tremendous boost for all the hard work undertaken by the team at Nirvana.  We have seen the increase in customer numbers as an endorsement for the popularity of the new express treatments and the 5 star rating in an added compliment'.  People are feeling very stressed at work and find Nirvana offers them a relatively easy way to feel great.

Nirvana was assessed by The Good Salon recently and the inspectors were bowled over by Nirvana's utter customer focus and the range of new innovative treatments.

Dawson Penn, Chairman of the Good Salon Guide, said 'I am delighted that Nirvana Beauty and Day Spa has succeeded in reaching the standards required to become a member of the Good Beauty Guide.  The Good Beauty Guide highlights the professional status of hair and beauty salons and will ensure that clients can have confidence in their choice of beauty salon'.

Ramada Portrush Wins International Awards

24 November 2009

The Ramada Portrush has beaten over 160 Ramada Hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to win the coveted Medallia Award 2009 which recognises excellence in guest satisfaction.   The Award was made at the Wyndham Hotel Groups annual EMEA conference in Manchester. Each year the Wyndham Hotel Group, the largest hotel group in the world, recognises those hotels within its portfolio of brands that have performed to exceptional standards.

The Medallia Award is made based on guest satisfaction surveys, which are sent to every customer following their stay. The winner of the prestigious Award must demonstrate that they have issued and received back a significant number of completed questionnaires, that each guest has recorded consistently high satisfaction scores and that the hotel has pro-actively responded to these questionnaires.

Commenting on the Award, the Hotel General Manager Ann Donaghy said, “Since day one the hotel has punched above its weight in terms of quality and service delivery. The hotel’s success has always come from its highly motivated and enthusiastic team of managers and staff and in the three years since we have adopted the Ramada brand we have all worked hard to embrace its internationally renowned culture and reflect its global reputation.”

“Customer satisfaction is at the core of everything we do and I am delighted to be so positively recognised by our peers within the Ramada family. This is a great boost not only for the management team and staff but also for the tourism profile of Portrush and we will be building on this success to provide even better service for our guests in the weeks and months to come.”
